Metronomo is coming soon. Some rough edges are expected, and feedback is appreciated. Email support@nomotime.com with bug reports and feature requests.
Before you write
For bug reports, include the following information to streamline corrective action:
- Metronomo version — shown in Settings → About → App version.
- Your device and its system version — for example, “Pixel 8, Android 15” or “iPhone 15, iOS 26”.
- Your Install ID — in Settings → About → Install ID. Tap and hold to copy it. It is an anonymous string, not personal information, and it lets a report be matched to what actually happened.
- What you expected, and what happened instead — including the tempo, beat count, and subdivision you were using, if the problem is about timing or sound.
Frequently asked
What does Metronomo run on?
iPhone, iPad, and Android phones and tablets. It is the same app on both platforms, with the same features; where the two systems differ, the difference is in what the system asks of you rather than in what Metronomo does. On Android it asks for notification access so the click can keep playing with the screen locked. On iOS it asks for nothing.
Why can’t I set a time signature?
Metronomo defines timing as beats per bar (1 to 16) and lets you accent each one independently. This is the same information a time signature carries, minus the notation. Compound meters are built by setting subdivisions and accenting the group heads.
What do the five accent levels do?
Each beat — and each subdivision within a beat — can be set to strong, medium, soft, tick, or mute. They differ in both volume and tone. Mute lets you syncopate a bar, or challenge your inner clock by silencing beats deliberately.
What tempos does it cover?
20 to 480 BPM. Rather than put the whole range under one thumb, the slider shows a window of the scale — 20 to 60 BPM wide, your choice in settings — so you get fine control where you actually are, and holding past either end shifts the window 10 BPM at a time. Tempos also carry natural-language markings, so Andante is findable where convention places it.
Does the click keep going when I switch apps or lock the screen?
Yes. Metronomo keeps playing in the background and shows a playback card on the lock screen with the Groove’s name and tempo marking, so you can start it and put the phone down.
Is the timing accurate?
Clicks are scheduled against the device’s audio hardware clock rather than software timers, which is what keeps them from audibly drifting. That said, timing still depends on your device and its audio configuration — see the Terms of Use for what that does and does not promise.
Does Metronomo work offline?
Completely. There is no account, no login, and no network connection required for anything the app does. The only data it ever sends is optional anonymous analytics.
How do I turn off analytics?
Settings → About → Analytics → Don’t share. Nothing further is sent from that point, including on the next launch. Every feature keeps working. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what is collected while it is on.
Where are my Grooves stored, and can I back them up?
On your device, in Metronomo’s private storage. There is no cloud backup, so uninstalling the app deletes your Grooves permanently. Settings → Utilities → Export writes your saved library to a file, in a folder you choose, and Import reads one back — that is how you move a library to a new device or keep a copy before clearing the app. See Export and import for what the file holds.
Does Metronomo use my microphone?
No. It asks for no microphone access and contains no recording code. On iOS it carries a microphone usage string because its audio engine links Apple’s audio APIs, which nothing in Metronomo calls. It makes sound; it never listens.
Deleting your data
Data on your device. Uninstall Metronomo. On iOS that deletes its data along with it; on Android you can also clear the data in place, at Settings → Apps → Metronomo → Storage → Clear storage. Either removes every Groove and setting immediately and permanently.
Analytics data. Email support@nomotime.com with the subject “Data deletion request” and include the Install ID from Settings. The Install ID is the only way to find your records — nothing else connects them to you, so a request without it cannot be fulfilled. Deletion is completed within 30 days and confirmed by reply.
To stop any further collection right away, choose Don’t share under Settings → About → Analytics. That takes effect immediately and does not require emailing anyone.
